Beginner/Intermediate Hatha with Michele
Gain knowledge, confidence and strength while learning and deepening fundamentals with traditional Hatha.
Classical Hatha is an ancient and holistic school of yoga. Relatively gentle, slow and great for beginners or students who prefer a more relaxed style where they hold poses longer, this helps to bring peace and balance to the mind and body. Postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility and hormone function in the body. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion with standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers. Classes will include time for pranayama (breathwork) and meditation to help calm the mind.
Hatha can not only change how we feel physically, but mentally and emotionally too. It can enhance feelings of happiness and well being, helping to release sadness and grieving, encourage relaxation and dynamism. Our hatha classes provide an opportunity to stretch, unwind, and release tension, providing a good counterpoint to both busy lifestyles and cardio workouts.

Yoga Nidra is the practice and art of Yogic Sleep. You will be guided through a detailed meditation that will allow your mind and body to slip into a deep state of relaxation. The brain will switch from beta to alpha waves, signaling the transition from activity to meditation. Receive deep rest and restoration in this extremely healing practice. Participants leave feeling grounded, well rested, and nourished; with a new cultivated awareness. No yoga or meditation experience is needed. This class is open to both adults and children and all levels are welcome.
